Three-time All-American and 2008 MPSF Assistant Coach of the Year Teri Lavallee enters her fifth season on the Aggie gymnastics staff. She works primarily as a choreographer for the floor squad.

UC Davis is Lavallee's second collegiate coaching stop, having first assisted Springfield College (Mass.) under a teaching fellowship from 1990 to 1992. In her final season, she was selected as the USGF Division II Assistant Coach of the Year. Lavallee completed her master of education degree in sports injury, prevention and management from Springfield that year.

Lavallee later coached for more than 11 years at the Sterling Academy of Gymnastics alongside her husband John, now the UC Davis head coach. She earned her master's degree in physical therapy from Massachusetts-Lowell in 1995, then began a successful career at South County Physical Therapy in Auburn, Mass., then at The Orthopedic Group in Hamden, Conn.

As a collegiate athlete, the Edmonds, Wash. native was a member of Alaska Anchorage's inaugural women's gymnastics team. She earned USGF All-America honors in 1985, 1986 and 1990; and became the first two-time Athlete of the Year honoree. In 2001, she was named to the charter class of the Seawolf Hall of Fame.
