Gymnasts gear up for NCAA regional

Brown becomes first Aggie to earn at-large berths in two different events

One of the most successful gymnasts in program history, Tanya Ho remains at her alma mater as a volunteer assistant coach.

A native of nearby Elk Grove, Ho captured a total of 13 All-MPSF honors, nine Gymnast of the Week awards, plus an Athlete of the Year nod in 2010. On the larger scene, she became the first Aggie to qualify for an NCAA regional three times, and the second (after Cheryl Sidel) to reach the region meet as an all-arounder in back-to-back years.

On March 28, 2008, the sophomore Ho became the third UC Davis gymnast to crack the 39-point barrier in the all-around. She hit a 39.025 to capture the MPSF individual championship.

Ho graduated from UC Davis with a degree in exercise biology.
