COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.. --- Sophomore Tiffany Chan shared first place on vault while freshman Arianne Furman tied for first on uneven bars to lead UC Davis to victory at the Rocky Mountain Open women's collegiate gymnastics triangular meet at the U.S. Air Force Academy Saturday. The Aggies posted a team total of 191.625, well ahead of the host Falcons' second-place score of 190.125 and third-place Texas Woman's University at 189.150.

Perhaps most encouraging for Aggie fans is that the tirumvirate of UC Davis, Air Force and Texas Woman's have formed the top three teams at the USAG Collegiate Championships in three of the past four national meets.

Chan's score of 9.775 on vault pushed UC Davis over the 48-point barrier for a team effort of 48.075, tied for eighth in school history. Her individual score also ranks tied for fifth in Aggie annals. Vanessa Baume recorded a 9.650 and Lynn Schwaebe hit a career-high 9.675 as part of that rotation.

On floor exercise, Chan and teammate Flora Bare each posted 9.800 marks to help the Aggies toward a 48.225 event score. UC Davis also put up meet bests of 47.750 on bars and 47.575 on beam. Nicole Doherty scored a career-best 9.575 on bars to open that event, followed by Furman's first-place mark of 9.675.

Bare was the Aggies' lone all-arounder, scoring a third-place 38.450 for the meet. The senior All-American scored 9.525 on vault, 9.475 on bars and 9.650 on beam en route to her all-around score.

Allison Todd of Air Force won both the individual beam (9.825) and floor (9.925), and shared the all-around title with teammate Laura Frank, scoring 38.925.

UC Davis returns home for a dual meet with Sacramento State on Sunday, February 2.
