Final Stats

ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Freshman Stacey Nicolini two events and the individual all-around at 38.100 to lead UC Davis to a winning team score of 191.275 in a televised women's collegiate dual gymnastics meet at the Wells Fargo Sports Complex Fridy evening. Host Alaska Anchorage finished second with a 187.300 score. The meet aired on a local television station, KCFT.

The Aggies improve to 4-2 for the season. Both teams are members of the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation.

Nicolini's winning vault score of 9.750 led UC Davis to a 48.725 in the event, as senior Michelle Kulovitz chipped in a 9.775 and sophomore Tanya Ho and freshman Marcy Miller each contributed 9.750 scores to lead an Aggie sweep in the second rotation. Nicolini also shared first place on balance beam, tying teammate Kendall McCann's score of 9.700.

Kulovitz finished second in the all-around with a 37.925, slightly behind teammate Nicolini and almost six tenths in front of third-place Jessica Portlock, who led UAA with a 37.350 total.

Lida Gehlen led UC Davis on uneven bars with a career-high 9.850, well ahead of second-place Ho's 9.775. UC Davis managed a 48.450 in the event, also getting a solid 9.700 from Michelle Bobonski.

Kelsey Fullerton was the Seawolves' lone event-winner, claiming the floor exercise with a 9.625. Aggie freshman Ashley Lachman was second on floor at 9.525 while Kulovitz took third with a 9.500 score.

 

 

Both UC Davis and UAA will face off again on Sunday at 1 p.m. Alaska time.
