SAN JOSE, Calif. - Sophomore Stephanie Stamates captured the individual floor exercise title with a 9.875 score while UC Davis amassed 48.800 totals on each of vault, beam and floor en route to an overall 194.225 during a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's gymnastics dual at the Event Center Friday evening.

Host San Jose State won the meet with a 194.950, holding off its guest with a 48.975 on floor in the final rotation.

The Aggies opened with a 47.825 on uneven bars, counting one fall but getting a 9.750 out of sophomore Dani Judal. However, they totaled identical 48.800 in each of the next three events. Redshirt freshman Katy Nogaki posted a 9.825 on vault while senior Anna Shumaker added a 9.800.

The 48.800 on vault is tied for fifth for the highest team score in school history for that event, while the 48.800 on beam ranks fourth all-time. UC Davis set program records in each of those events earlier this season.

On floor, Stamates' winning 9.875 led the way with Shumaker and junior Kala DeFrancesco each adding 9.750s. Then in the final rotation, Shumaker, Judal and Stamates each tallied equal 9.825 efforts to form a three-way tie for second place in the meet.

Shumaker, who added a 9.600 on bars and a 9.750 on floor, finished with a second-place all-around total of 38.975. Junior Tiana Montell went 38.725, scoring 9.750 on vault and 9.725 on floor for her top performances.

Spartan senior Bekah Gher won the individual all-around at 39.150, helped by first-place 9.850s on both vault and beam. Judal's 9.750 on bars put her in a tie for the meet win with SJSU junior Cami Guyer. Nogaki and Shumaker finished second and third, respectively, on vault behind Gher.

The Aggies' dual record now stands at 5-8 while their 194.225 represents a new road season high. They return to action in the second of three straight road duals at Alaska Anchorage on February 16.
