USAFA, Colo. - Junior Katie Yamamura won the uneven bars and all-around titles while Leah Housman and Michelle Ho claimed meet wins on balance beam and floor exercise, respectively, but Air Force overtook visiting UC Davis in the final rotation during a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's gymnastics meet at Cadet West Gym Saturday afternoon. The Falcons scored a 191.625 to the Aggies' second-place 190.925.

UC Davis moves to 2-9 for the season.

Yamamura hit a 9.725 on bars before delivering a second-place 9.750 on vault en route to a winning total of 38.600, edging Air Force sophomore Linnaea Hance's 38.575. Housman scored a career-high 9.850 on balance beam to help offset three falls early in the lineup.

In other UC Davis highlights, freshman Tiana Montell hit a 9.675 on uneven bars then matched her career high with an identical mark on floor. Senior Erika Van Dyke posted a 9.625 on bars in only her second meet in the official lineup.

However, the Aggies counted two misses on each of bars and beam, plus two neutral deductions on floor exercise. Furthermore, sophomore Anna Shumaker had to scratch from the meet after suffering an injury in warmups, forcing UC Davis to field only five scores in the vault and floor rotations.

The host Falcons trailed by a 143.550-143.125 margin heading into the fourth rotation but managed a 48.500 on floor exercise to surge past the Aggies in the team standings. Katie Hawthorne, Jessica Wallander and Hance put up 9.725, 9.750 and 9.700 marks down the final stretch of the meet.

The last time Air Force outscored UC Davis was at the 2003 USAG Collegiate Division Championships, when the Falcons finished fourth to the Aggies' fifth in the team preliminaries. The streak spanned 17 meetings, including USAG and MPSF championship meets.
