Final Stats

SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sophomore Joanne Pizzo shared first place in the individual vault, senior Tiffany Chan was second on balance beam and sophomore Brandi Forte tied for third place on the uneven parallel bars to highlight UC Davis' 190.700-point team total in a three-team women's collegiate gymnastics meet at Sacramento State Friday. The host Hornets won the meet at 192.125 while Alaska Anchorage was third with a 186.700 score.

The Aggies, who posted their highest road score of the 2005 season, move to 5-8 overall. The 190.700 total is better than two points higher than their previous road best, set on February 19 at San Jose State.

Pizzo scored 9.700 on vault to split a three-way tie for the win. Sac State's Nirvana Zaher and UAA's Dominique Ingram matched her total. Freshman Michelle Kulovitz added a fourth-place 9.650 to help UC Davis compile a 47.775 score in that event.

Forte scored a team-best 9.625 on bars and added a 9.475 in just her second career appearance in the balance beam lineup. Pizzo also contributed a season-best 9.600 on beam, good for third place behind Chan's runner-up score of 9.750. The Aggies' 47.575 on beam also represents a season-high road score.

Additionally, Chan scored a 9.750 on floor exercise to lead UC Davis to a 48.100 aggregate in that event. The mark is the second 48-plus floor score for the Aggies, and the highest in a road meet.

Sacramento State boasted the meet-winner in all four events plus the all-around. In addition to her tie for first on vault, Zaher's four-event total of 38.500 gave her nearly a full-point win in the individual all-around. Alexis Tsuromoto scored 9.825 on bars, Melissa Genovese hit 9.850 on beam and Stefanie Aeder turned in a 9.925-point performance on floor exercise to each claim wins for the Hornets.
