Final Stats

CORVALLIS, Ore. - Senior Tiffany Chan posted a fifth-place score of 9.825 on floor exercise to help UC Davis compile its highest road score of the season at Oregon State's Salbasgeon Suites Invitational women's gymnastics meet Friday. The Aggies scored 191.500 as a team, surpassing the previous road-high of 190.700, set one week earlier at Sacramento State.

The host Beavers won the meet at 195.525, edging ninth-ranked Iowa State, which scored 195.100. Washington finished third in the four-team meet at 194.500.

UC Davis is now 7-11 for the season.

Chan shared fifth place with the Huskies' Chelsea Bakken on floor with that 9.825, and score a team-high 9.725 on balance beam to tie for 11th place on that apparatus. Junior Mei Ling Clark led the Aggies on uneven bars at 9.700 while freshman Michelle Kulovitz had the team's best vault score of 9.675.

Other solid scores came from sophomore Brandi Forte, who went 9.650 on uneven bars; and freshman Julia Richards, who finished one spot behind Chan on beam at 9.675. Another freshman, Andrea Dolinsky, contributed a 9.650 on floor exercise to help the Aggies eclipse the 48-point plateau for the fourth time this season.

More importantly to UC Davis than its individual places in the meet, the total score raises the Aggies' regional-qualifying score (RQS) from 189.775 to 190.580. This should move the Aggies into the top four among teams competing for the USAG Collegiate Nationals in April.

The Cyclones took the top two positions in the individual all-around as Janet Anson compiled a 39.325 score to win the event and Laura-Kay Powell totalled 39.100 in her four events. Three different OSU gymnasts claimed event wins: Yuki Lamb won vault with a 9.925, Chrissy Lamun led a 1-2-3 Beaver sweep on beam with a 9.875, and Therese Videan tied Anson for the floor title at 9.900.

UC Davis' next meet is a dual meet Sacramento State on March 13.
