SACRAMENTO, Calif. - Sophomore Stephanie Stamates won the floor exercise competition with a 9.850 while senior Anna Shumaker had runner-up finishes on both beam and floor to claim the all-around title at 39.075, helping UC Davis to a 194.800 team score in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's gymnastics triangular meet at the Nest Friday night.

Host Sacramento State won the meet with a 195.275 total while a short-handed Alaska Anchorage finished third at 188.550.

Stamates's floor effort edged Shumaker and Hornet Kailey Hansen, who shared second place with 9.825 scores. Stamates and Shumaker also tied for second place on beam at 9.750, behind Sac State's Kalliah McCartney at 9.800. Shumaker also matched teammate Katy Nogaki for third place on vault with a 9.800, and opened the meet with a 9.700 on bars en route to her fourth consecutive 39-plus all-around score.

Junior Lisa Wiktorski led UC Davis on uneven bars at 9.825, good for a tie for second place and tops among a squad that went 48.825 overall. Sophomore Dani Judal also bolstered the Aggies on bars at 9.800 while junior Kala DeFrancesco hit a 9.775 and freshman Yonni Michovska went 9.725.

The 9.750s by Shumaker and Stamates paced UC Davis to a 48.575 total on beam, solid by most teams' standards but the first time in six straight meets that the Aggies did not crack their all-time top 10 list. UC Davis followed with a 48.900 on floor, thanks to Shumaker, Stamates and DeFrancesco (9.800). The vault squad closed out the evening with a 48.500. DeFrancesco notched a 9.725 and senior Madeline Kennedy added a 9.650 to the contributions of Nogaki and Shumaker.

Sac State's McCartney won all three events in which she competed, sharing the vault title with Hansen at 9.825, winning bars outright with a 9.875, then adding the beam victory in the third rotation.

The Aggies, ranked 30th nationally, return to action on March 15 in a road dual at No. 22 California.
