DAVIS, Calif. -

Sophomore Tiffany Chan posted a season-high 9.900 on floor exercise while senior teammate Lynn Schwaebe finished second on uneven bars with a 9.850 as UC Davis scored a team total of 190.850 in a women's collegiate gymnastics dual meet at Recreation Hall Saturday. Visiting UC Berkeley won the meet with a 195.925 team score.

Cal's My-Lan Dodd easily won the individual all-around with her 39.475 effort in the meet. She also won on bars at 9.875, shared first place on beam with a 9.850, tied for second on vault at 9.850 and on floor at 9.900. The Golden Bears won each event of the meet, with Monique Chang capturing vault with a 9.900 and Stephanie Kim taking gold on floor at 9.925.

Chan's performance on floor tied Dodd for second on floor, but is even more remarkable given that she had not competed on floor exercise since UC Davis' meet at Cal on February 9.

"When you have the athletic ability she does, it's possible to score that," said Aggie head coach Ray Goldbar. "She's been tumbling and going through routines for a week and a half. And she's a good performer.

"We needed that. We need someone who can solidify our events. We've been struggling on floor with some of our top people out, so it's nice to have her back."

The meet represented not only a home finale for UC Davis, but the final Recreation Hall meet for seniors Schwaebe, Vanessa Baume, Jenna Mayfield, Michelle Naito and Flora Bare. Naito recorded a career-high 38.325 in the all-around, boosted by a 9.625 on bars and 9.750 on balance beam. Baume also enjoyed a strong night, scoring 9.625 on vault and a season-high 9.800 on floor.

UC Davis returns to action at the conclusion of the campus' final examinations, with a meet at Sacramento State on March 22.
