DAVIS, Calif. - Sophomore Stephanie Stamates garnered her second consecutive Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Specialist of the Week award while redshirt freshman Katy Nogaki picked up her second Newcomer of the Week nod in three weeks, helping UC Davis rule the conference's weekly gymnastics awards for the period ending February 9.

This is the fourth straight week that at least one Aggie has claimed a conference weekly honor, and the third in which UC Davis had at least two of the accolades.

Stamates becomes just the second gymnast in the conference to win back-to-back, joining San Jose State's Julia Greer in that distinction. Coincidentally, Greer was among the finalists for the Specialist of the Week award. The Alamo, Calif. native won the individual floor title in Friday's dual at SJSU, scoring a season-high 9.875. Stamates followed that with a 9.825 on beam, matching her career high and finishing in a tie for second in the meet with teammates Dani Judal and Anna Shumaker.

The Aggies scored 48.800 on beam for the program's No. 4 all-time score for that event.

Nogaki, who hails from Orange, Calif., placed second on vault in Friday's meet with a 9.825. That score helped UC Davis to a 48.800 in the second rotation, good for fifth in school history. Nogaki previously won Newcomer of the Week honors on January 28.

Air Force senior Linnaea Hance won the Gymnast of the Week award for her season-best 39.025 in the all-around during Saturday's dual meet with 10th-ranked Auburn.

UC Davis returns to action in a Sunday afternoon dual at Alaska Anchorage.
