WOODLAND, Calif. - UC Davis senior Michelle Kulovitz has been selected as the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Gymnast of the Week for the week ending February 10, it was announced by the conference office Monday. She is the third Aggie to win such an honor in 2008.
A team co-captain from Anaheim Hills, Calif., Kulovitz enjoyed a strong three-event effort in Friday's dual with Cal State Fullerton. She scored a career-high 9.825 to win the individual floor exercise, while adding a 9.750 on vault and a 9.575 on uneven bars.
Previous Aggies to earn Gymnast of the Week honors are sophomores Lida Gehlen (Jan. 28) and Tanya Ho (Jan. 14). This is the first career GOTW award for Kulovitz, who earned All-MPSF second-team honors in the all-around in 2007 and was a USAG Collegiate Division champion in 2006.
UC Davis returns to action at the Air Force Academy on February 16.
