LAST WEEK: UC Davis scored road highs on bars (48.125) and floor (48.225) in a three-way meet at San Jose State with Sacramento State... The Aggies had a 144.700 total through three events, but counted two falls on beam for a 191.450 finish... Junior Michelle Kulovitz scored a career-high 38.775 in the all-around, tying for first place on vault (9.775) and scoring a season-best 9.675 on beam... Carolyn Kampf (9.650), Carrie Lujan (9.325), Andi Dolinsky (9.625) and Michelle Bobonski (9.575) each had season- or career-high marks on bars to help the Aggies compile a 48.125... Sophomore Adee Schoffman hit a season-best 9.750 on vault, finishing closely behind Kulovitz on the individual leaderboard...
UC Davis leads Seattle Pacific for the top slot in the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation... Friday's road score lifted the team's regional-qualifying score to 190.495, more than a full point in front of the Falcons' 189.400... Lujan, Kulovitz and freshman Tanya Ho are both in the West Region's top 20 on vault... Ho is 10th at 9.805, Lujan holds 13th at 9.755 and Kulovitz ranks 18th at 9.740... Lujan needs one more meet to appear in the RQS standings in the all-around... She has a total average of 37.900 in five appearances, having scored 38.300-38.225-38.000 in the last three weekends.
UP NEXT: UC Davis heads to the Gem State to compete in a four-way meet at Boise State... The Broncos, currently seventh in the West Region with a 191.555 RQS, have broken the 193-point barrier in each of their last two meets... BSU scored 193.200 in a dual win over Southern Utah on Feb. 9, then hit a season-best 193.975 at Texas Woman's on Feb. 17... Freshman DeAvera Todd won beam at TWU with a 9.850 while Yvette Leizorek won floor at 9.825...
Seattle Pacific, arguably the Aggies' lead rival for this year's MPSF title, scored a 190.050 in a triangular at Washington Friday... Senior Debra Huss is the Falcons' top all-arounder with a 38.315 RQS... Oregon State moved up to No. 11 on the national rankings, scoring a season-best 196.975 in the triangular with UW and SPU last Friday... Sophomore Tasha Smith won the individual floor (9.950) and all-around (39.550).
HEAD COACH JOHN LAVALLEE
"We were leading the meet after two events. We had our best bars of the season. We had another good vault, although we didn't have Tanya, which made a difference. We did a good job on floor with just a few minor breaks, but nothing major. Then we went to beam and had some breaks."
"We were right there in the hunt with both teams. We led after two events and after floor, we were still very much in the hunt. We'll take this experience, get back in the gym, and really pick ourselves up to finish four events. We had a good meet against Air Force two weeks ago, but we didn't have good bars. Last week, we didn't have good beam. We have to work on going four events in a row in the gym."
"This is big weekend for us. We have Boise, a team that is two places above us in the region. We have Seattle Pacific, our direct competition in conference. Then we have Seattle at home and we're at Sac that Sunday. So we're in the middle of it. We're going to put it to the metal. Being that close to Sac and San Jose is totally a positive. I would be shocked if our team didn't walk into meet this weekend and get this thing moving."
