DAVIS, Calif. - A total of six home meets, including the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Championships, highlights the 2008 UC Davis women's gymnastics schedule as announced by second-year head coach John Lavallee.

The conference meet takes place on March 28 at the Pavilion, restarting the four-year rotation among member schools Seattle Pacific, Alaska Anchorage and Air Force. UC Davis previously hosted the MPSF Championships in 2005, the first year the league became a four-team aggregation.

Besides the usual Aggies' conference foes, the 2008 slate includes a substantial portion of the program's key West Region competition. California, San Jose State, Sacramento State and Cal State Fullerton each meet up with UC Davis on two different occasions. The first Aggies-Titans matchup, held on February 8, will run concurrently with the UC Davis-CSF wrestling dual in the revival of the "Beauty & The Beast" promotion.

Stanford, coming off one of its finest seasons in program history, joins former MPSF members Sacramento State and San Jose State in the regular-season finale on March 23. The Cardinal placed fifth at last year's NCAA Championships, taking home a total of 13 All-America awards.

Two non-region teams will also visit UC Davis during the upcoming year. Lavallee's alma mater, Springfield College, will take part in a four-team home meet on January 18. Towson University, the defending USAG Collegiate Division champions, will join Cal in the Aggies' January 11 home opener.

UC Davis finished the 2007 season with a 192.550 regional-qualifying score, earning Lavallee an MPSF Coach of the Year nod in his first season at the helm. Additionally, the Aggies boasted the MPSF Co-Assistant Coach of the Year (Ron Manara) and the MPSF Gymnast of the Year (Andi Dolinsky).
