Fall 2012 Lacrosse Announcements

Kammes appointed as assistant coach; Aggies release fall schedule

Amanda Kammes reunited with new head coach Kate Henwood as the assistant coach for UC Davis women's lacrosse during the 2012-13 athletics year. She will be involved with all aspects of the program.

Kammes previously served as Henwood's defensive coordinator at Garnet Valley High School during that program's 2011 and 2012 state championship seasons. She ran the team's strength and conditioning program, both during and out of season. During her brief tenure with the Jaguars, Kammes' athletes garnered four All-America awards and three US Lacrosse All-Academic honors.

Before entering the lacrosse coaching world, Kammes served as an assistant women's basketball coach at both American University (2005-07) and later her alma mater Penn (2008-09). She had been a team captain and starting point guard for Penn, which captured the Ivy League championship in her junior year of 2004.

Besides her coaching at GVHS, Kammes co-owned Impact Lacrosse, which conducted individual training and lacrosse-specific sports camps and clinics in the Delaware County, Penn. vicinity.
