Freshman Tiffany Lee led all scorers with five goals
and an assist and junior Naomi Coffman added a hat trick to lead UC Davis
to a 15-0 win over Regis University in a women's collegiate lacrosse game
Sunday.
The Aggies even their record to 3-3. The Rangers fall to 1-5 on the year.
UC Davis steadily compiled a 10-0 lead at the break with Coffman scoring
all three of her goals before the break. Seniors Jaime Fitzpatrick and Kate
Hanson each scored a pair in the first half. Lee had completed her hat trick
by halftime as well.
In the second half, Lee broke loose for a Leslie Kado-assisted goal in
the opening minute then Stacy Sugarman posted back-to-back scores. Jessie
Donohoue scored the last goal for the Aggies, a free-position shot in the
53rd minute. Kado recorded three assists while Sugarman, Hanson and Fitzpatrick
each added one.
The Rangers managed only four shots for the game, two of which were stopped
by Aggie goalie Kristen Braasch. Regis goalie Kathryn Oliver snabbed 22
saves of UC Davis' 49 total shots.
The shutout marks the first time UC Davis has blanked an opponent since
a 20-0 win over UC Santa Cruz in the first round of the 2000 Western Women's
Lacrosse League playoffs.
