DAVIS, Calif. - Senior midfielder Carly Voris scored a career-high six goals while junior Elizabeth Landry added another four, helping UC Davis pull away from a one-goal halftime margin to a 15-7 win over Robert Morris in non-conference women's collegiate lacrosse action at Aggie Stadium Wednesday afternoon.

The Aggies remain unbeaten at 5-0. The Colonials suffer their first loss of the year, moving to 4-1.

Voris, whose previous high was the four-goal output in last year's season-ending upset of Stanford, tallied five amidst her team's 9-2 second half. Landry, completed her hat trick by the 13th minute of the contest, then added her fourth in the final minutes of the contest. She also had seven draw controls to match RMU sophomore and NCAA Division I leader Jessica Karwacki for the game high.

Sophomore Ellie Delich posted three goals with two assists and four ground balls. Junior Meghan Jordan chipped in a goal and two assists while sophomore Mary Doyle added a goal, five ground balls and three draw controls.

Brittany Byerly led all Colonial players with five goals while twins Corey Karwacki and Jessica Karwacki each netted one. Byerly had four of her goals in a 4-0 RMU run to close out the first half.

Except for Corey Karwacki's drive in the opening minutes, UC Davis never trailed in the contest. Landry completed her hat trick amidst a stretch of six unanswered Aggie goals from the fifth through 15th minutes. Byerly then answered with her personal 4-0 comeback effort, bringing the score to just 6-5 at the halftime break.

Landry won the opening draw after halftime then promptly assisted Voris for the Aggies' seventh goal, igniting an explosive second-half offensive performance. Voris continued to hit goals in the 33rd, 41st, 56th and the 60th minutes. Jordan scored on her own in the 38th then connected with Voris and Delich in the final five minutes. UC Davis also broke up three of RMU's six attempts to transition through the midfield in the second half.

Overall, the Aggies outshot their guests by a 29-17 margin, including 10-2 to start the contest. They also outdrew the Colonials by a 15-8 margin and picked up five more ground balls (22-17). Fouls also played a part, with RMU committing 28. Furthermore, UC Davis scored two of its goals with a player up and had another four on eight-meter chances.

The Aggies, off to their best win-loss start since 2000, returns to the road for Mountain Pacific Sports Federation matchups at USC (Friday) and San Diego State (Sunday).
