Final Stats

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. - Sophomore attacker Katie McMahon scored three goals and assisted on the game-winner as UC Davis overcame a 5-3 halftime deficit to capture a 9-7 win over St. Joseph's in a non-conference women's lacrosse game at Finnesey Field Tuesday.

The Aggies improve to 6-4 on the season. The Hawks drop to 3-2 overall.

McMahon, who was recently named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Player of the Week, had two goals out of the gates in the second half, then assisted on Kaitlin Moore's game-winner in the final minutes of the contest. Junior Tiffany Lee and freshman Katie McGovern each had a goal and an assist for the Aggies.

Jenny Egan led SJU with three goals on three shots while Lindsey McCool added a 1-1-2 offensive chart. Kristina Jaggers posted a pair of assists, including one to teammate Kerry O'Connell that tied the game at 7-7 with 3:30 remaining.

Neither team could reach the scoreboard until 12:34 into the game when Aggie freshman Lindsay Messina's unassisted score gave her team a short-lived lead. The Hawks scored three straight -- including two by Egan -- before McMahon hit her first at the 17:25 mark.

Egan completed her hat trick with 5:22 remaining in the first half to send SJU up to a 4-2 lead. McGovern scored shortly after to cut the advantage to one goal, but McCool's unassisted goal just under the two-minute mark sent the Hawks into halftime with a 5-3 edge.

UC Davis jumped out to three straight goals to start the second half when McGovern assisted freshman Alannah Taylor for her only goal, then McMahon scored goals at 34:37 and 42:44 to put the Aggies ahead by a 6-5 tally.

Both teams deadlocked into a scoreless battle for another eight minutes before Christine Colangelo's unassisted goal tied the game, 6-6, with 8:35 remaining. However, Lee hit her lone goal just 45 seconds later to send UC Davis up to a 7-6 lead.

The Jaggers-O'Connell connection tied the game for a fourth time at 56:30, then Moore hit the game-winner less than a minute later. With 1:36 remaining, Megan O'Connor added an unassisted goal to seal the win for UC Davis.

With her three goals, McMahon lifts her season total to 33 and her career count to 99, tying her with Jaime Fitzpatrick for second place on the school's all-time scoring list.

The win concludes the Aggies' four-day, three-game road trip along the East Coast. UC Davis will return to the northeast for games at Duquesne, Robert Morris and St. Vincent starting on April 15.
