DAVIS, Calif. - Seniors Sam Axenroth, Ellie Delich and Courtney Neff each scored hat tricks to lead UC Davis to a 16-6 win over Fresno State in a Mountain Pacific Sports Federation women's lacrosse home finale at Aggie Stadium Tuesday. Axenroth led the way with four total goals while Delich also had three assists for six total points.

The Aggies even their overall record to 6-6 with a 4-3 conference ledger. The Bulldogs fall to 4-10 for the year and 1-7 in MPSF play.

Axenroth doubled her previous best of two goals, set in back-to-back games against Vermont and Saint Mary's earlier this season. Delich also scooped up seven ground balls and caused three turnovers.

Junior Melissa Kellan and freshman Shannon Cross each had two scores, while senior Mary Doyle and junior Kelly Chuck each added one. Delich led 11 total team assists. Kellan, Neff and sophomore Kelsey DeJesus had two apiece while Cross and Doyle chipped one each.

For Fresno State, junior Caroline Dineen-Carlson had two goals and matched teammate Ryleigh Bone and the Aggies' cross for the game high of four draw controls.

UC Davis never trailed in the contest. Delich assisted Axenroth on the opening possession, then Doyle converted an eight-meter opportunity to bring the score to 2-0. Dineen-Carlson and junior Alex White scored back-to-back to even the score at 2-2. A Delich steal led directly to a Kellan-Neff connection, putting the Aggies back on top, 3-2.

UC Davis scored five of the next six to extend its lead to 8-3 at halftime, then added another six unanswered to stretch the advantage to 14-3 by the 39th minute. Delich had two goals and two assists in that run while Axenroth netted three more goals in a span of four minutes after the break.

Tuesday's game served as Senior Day, during which the Aggies honored their six graduates-to-be. Axenroth, Delich, Doyle, Neff, Savannah Hadley and Morgan Sissler were recognized during pregame ceremonies. Hadley posted a ground ball while Sissler had a caused turnover and two ground balls as part of the defensive unit.

The Aggies wrap up their regular season at San Diego State (Friday) and USC (Sunday). They look to grab one of the six berths in the MPSF tournament, hosted by Stanford from Apr. 28 through May 1.
