MORAGA, Calif. - Senior attacker Kelly Albin posted two goals and two assists, including her team's game-winning score in the 86th minute, to lead UC Davis to a 9-8 win over Saint Mary's in a non-conference collegiate women's lacrosse game Wednesday. The goal capped an Aggie comeback in the final nine minutes that erased a late 8-6 Gael lead.

UC Davis, ranked No. 2 in the Inside Lacrosse Division II Power Poll, improves to 11-4 on the season. SMC drops to 4-11 for the year.

Freshman Katie McMahon and senior Jessie Donohoue each added two goals for the Aggies. Senior Leslie Kado provided a goal and two assists. Goalkeeper Kristin Braasch protected the UC Davis cage with 17 saves.

After the Gaels took an early 1-0 lead on an unassisted goal by Ally High, the Aggies reclaimed the edge on three unanswered scores. Stacy Sugarman punched in an unassisted goal at 6:24, then Kado assisted Naomi Coffman just 36 seconds later. SMC re-tied the game at 3-3 with goals by High and Collette Spencer. Kado converted an assist from Albin to regain the lead at 26:36, but Jackie Spencer scored an equalizer in the final minute of the first half, sending both teams into the intermission locked in a 4-4 tie.

The Spencer sisters accounted for three goals in a 4-1 Gael run through the first 18 minutes of the season half. SMC's Lauren Riggers and UC Davis' Donohoue also scored in that stretch, as the Gaels established an 8-6 advantage.

With 8:24 remaining, McMahon converted a free-position shot to cut the Saint Mary's lead to one goal. Donohoue scored on a Kado assist to tie the contest at 8-8 with just 4:46 to play, then Albin fired in the game-winner at the 85:42 mark to lift the Aggies to the win.

Jackie Spencer led the Gaels with three goals and an assist, while High and Collette Spencer each contributed two goals. Katie Augustine posted a career-high 19 saves in net for SMC.

Albin's two assists lifts her season total to 26, tying Kado's 2003 school record. Kado raised her 2004 sum to 25 assists, now third all-time in Aggie annals.

UC Davis' next action is the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation tournament at Denver University from May 6-8.
