Cuenin named MPSF Offensive Player of the Week

DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis women’s lacrosse student-athlete Taylor Cuenin captured Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Offensive Player of the Week honors for the period ending Sunday, February 25, the league office announced Monday evening.

This is the first weekly award to go to an Aggie player in 2018, and the first time Cuenin has won an offensive nod. She previously earned two MPSF Defensive Player of the Week accolades in 2017, plus a Rookie of the Week award in 2016.

A midfielder and neurobiology, physiology & behavior major from Danville, Cuenin shot a perfect 4-for-4 with team highs of three caused turnovers and five draw controls during Sunday’s offensive shootout with Harvard. She leads UC Davis with 12 kills and a .632 shooting average, and enters the upcoming bye weekend with eight ground balls, eight draw controls and six steals.

The Aggies return to action on Thursday, March 8 for a 6 p.m. home contest against Robert Morris.

BIG WEST COIN DRIVE: Support the UC Davis Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and the Yolo County SPCA during the month of February as the Aggies hold their 11th annual coin drive at all home events. For the fourth year in a row, Big West Conference institutions will donate 100 percent of the funds raised to their designated charities, with the top three fundraising SAAC’s receiving a cash prize toward their SAAC budget. Over the last 10 years, conference members have combined to raise nearly $197,000.
