NOTES
TO RECAP: UC Davis (1-4, 0-3) slipped further in the MPSF standings with conference losses to USC and Cal... The Aggies erased an early 4-1 deficit against the Trojans, tying the contest at 4-4, before surrendering a run of five unanswered into the second half... At Cal, UC Davis opened to 4-1 lead in the first four minutes but the Golden Bears went on a 10-1 run from midway through the first period to 12 minutes into the second... Elizabeth Landry scored three goals to lead the Aggies in Wednesday's loss to USC, then Elizabeth Datino tallied four goals with three assists in the Sunday setback at Cal... Senior Hannah Mirza led UC Davis with four draw controls vs. USC then added four goals against Cal.

UP NEXT: The Aggies take a break from conference play with a pair of home games, taking on Virginia Tech on Tuesday then Iona on Friday, before breaking for final exams... The players' parents continue their grass-roots promotions, this time issuing a free drawstring bag to the first 50 UC Davis undergrads (showing valid ID).

Atlantic Coast Conference member VIRGINIA TECH (3-4) lost 15-7 to 20th-ranked Boston College in its only action over the weekend... Senior midfielder Libby Rosebro led the Hokies offensively with 2-for-4 shooting and an assist, but VT managed just 13 total shots and lost the draw control battle by a 15-9 margin... Sophomore attacker Megan Will leads the Hokies with 14 goals and four assists while Meg Bartley has a team-high 28 draw controls... This is just the second UC Davis-VT meeting all-time; the Hokies came away with an 18-14 win in Blacksburg last season... Datino and Anna Geissbuhler each scored four goals in that contest.

IONA (2-3) will face Cal before passing through Davis on Friday... The Gaels have split their last two games, both in overtime and both by 13-12 scores... Iona lost to Quinnipiac by that score on Wednesday before taking Cincinnati into sudden victory before freshman Mary Kate McCormick's fourth goal ended the marathon week... Kylie Gregory, who leads IC offensively with 16 goals and six assists, posted a hat trick with three steals in the win over the Bearcats... The Aggies are 2-0 all-time against the Gaels, most recently taking a 9-6 victory during the 2011 Spring Break trip.
