The Aggies held an 11-5 lead late in the first half against the Gaels, but SMC rallied back to a one-goal deficit with less than 12 minutes to go... Lapolla is ninth behind Hoffmire with 79 career scores... Christina Corsa has moved into fifth on the career assists chart with 50, while Lapolla now sits seventh at 44... HEAD COACH ELAINE JONES:
"Clearly, our turnovers hurt us. It's unfortunate, but I feel like the team's focus has been down. I want to get the team more polished and sharp, back to the way they were playing before. That will have to be a point of emphasis this week. Stanford will make us pay for turnovers, so we really need to value our possessions. Fresno State is also an aggressive team, so once again we need to protect the ball and limit our turnovers."
"Against Saint Mary's, our turnovers allowed them to get back into the game, and we lost a couple of draw controls in a row. We had a couple of silly turnovers after making a great defensive stand. We called a timeout to calm the team down and give them confidence. We still had control of the game, and we were still winning. The players stepped up. Hannah got a very crucial draw control, and Britt finished the shot. Then we had really good ball control for the last few minutes."
