A total of five UC Davis student-athletes were selected to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Academic All-Conference squad for women's lacrosse, it was announced by executive director Al Beaird on Monday. Alphabetically, the Aggie honorees are Lauren Boyle, Molly Lapolla, Laura Martin, Rachael Martinez and Kjersten Nordmeyer.
Lapolla is the lone junior among the UC Davis winners. Boyle, Martin, Martinez and Nordmeyer are all sophomores. Boyle had the highest grade-point average among the Aggie honorees, holding a 3.35 in civil engineering.
To be eligible for Academic All-MPSF merit, a student-athlete must have a 3.0 or better cumulative GPA, be a sophomore, junior or senior academically; have completed one full academic year at the member institution prior to the year in which the award is given, and have competed in 50 percent or more of the team's competitions.
Stanford had the most Academic All-MPSF winners with 14. Fresno State attacker Lorileigh Chung held the highest GPA of the conference honorees, posting a 4.00 as a graduate student.
UC Davis finished 6-12 for the season and placed fourth in the MPSF tournament, thanks to a 16-14 upset of Denver in the quarterfinal round.
