Tour Of Multi-Use Stadium Under Construction To Be Offered Saturday

DAVIS, Calif. - Construction of UC Davis' new multi-use stadium is currently underway and the public is invited to tour the site and see the latest progress with UC Davis Athletic officials on Saturday morning at 10 a.m.

Groundbreaking ceremonies for the new home to UC Davis football and women's lacrosse took place in early summer with actual construction beginning soon thereafter. The stadium is scheduled to open in 2006.

Department officials will conduct the tour and with fans having the opportunity to learn the latest progress and ask questions about the future facility and its construction.

Fans are asked to park in Lot 54 adjacent to the Schaal Aquatics Center. The stadium site is located just north of the aquatics facility.

There is no admission charge for the tour.

The UC Davis football team will conclude its season later in the day with a 1 p.m. matchup at Toomey Field against Northern Colorado. If they win, the Aggies would win a share of the Great West Football Conference Championship and secure their 36th consecutive winning season.
