WEST SACRAMENTO, Calif. - UC Davis' second novice eight won its race at the Davis Invitational Rowing Tournament at the Port of Sacramento on Sunday morning, completing an unbeaten weekend of action.

The UC Davis second novice eight, which won its dual against Sacramento State on Saturday, posted a time of 7 minutes, 31.55 seconds over the 2,000-meter course, beating Sonoma State, which finished in 7:47.24. UC Davis' first novice eight split into a pair of oufrs and finished second to Sonoma State in the with the Seawolves clocking a time of 8:16.00 and the Aggies first boat finishing in 8:19.85.

Rowing in the second varsity eight boat for UC Davis were Elisabeth Russo, Tiffany Zammit, Mary Catherine Watten, Breana Uhrig, Deanna Fong, Samantha Montgomery, Joyce Sinko, Jadine Vallelunga and coxswain Katherine Cobarrubia.

  The Aggies' varsity eight and second varsity eight did not compete at the D.I.R.T., which also consisted of several men's club races.

NOVICE EIGHT - 1. UC Davis (second novice eight crew), 7:31.55; 2. Sonoma State, 7:47.24.

NOVICE FOUR - 1. Sonoma State A, 8:16.00; 2. UC Davis A, 8:19.85; 3. UC Davis B 8:28.39; 4. Sonoma State B, 8:48.60.
