GOLD RIVER, Calif. - The UC Davis women's rowing team will conclude its spring season on Sunday when the Aggies' varsity eight and novice eight boats compete in the highly competitive Pac-10 Championships at Lake Natoma.

The varsity eight will race at 8:50 a.m. in its preliminary heat while the novices will open their heat at 9:10 a.m. Petite and grand finals ifor each event will be held in the afternoon. The top 21 entrants in the West Region in each of the varsity eight, second varsity, novice eight and varsity four divisions are eligible for the Pac-10 regatta.

The varsity eight competition will feature many of the top crews in the country. Seven are ranked in this week's U.S. Rowing/Collegiate Rowing Coachs Association Div. I Coaches Poll. Included are No. 1 Stanford, No. 2 Cal, No. 9 Washington, No. 12 USC, No. 13 Oregon State, No. 15 (tied) Washington State and No. 20 UCLA.

UC Davis will face Cal, Washington, Washington State, UCLA and Saint Mary's in its preliminary varsity eight race while the novices will race against Oregon State, Washington State, Stanford, Sacramento State and Oregon.

UC Davis has not raced since competing at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships at Lake Natoma two weeks ago.
