Rozanne DeWeese begins her eighth season on the Aggie staff, and her sixth as associate head coach. She assists head coach MaryClaire Robinson in all facets of coaching, recruiting and program management. During her tenure with the Aggies, she has played an instrumental role in the Aggies' transition to Division I. In all, she brings more than a decade of coaching experience to UC Davis.
DeWeese's first three years with the Aggies coincided with the final three seasons for the program in its reclassification from Division II to Division I. During that time, she was an associate head coach on a team that posted a 9-6-2 record in 2006 as an independent competing against an all-DI schedule as well as a full slate against the team's future Big West opponents.
Her efforts in recruiting have allowed Robinson to sign some of the program's top classes in its 25-year history as varsity sport.
DeWeese arrived at UC Davis in July of 2004 after spending the previous four seasons as an assistant coach at Indiana State University. Her responsibilities included on-field coaching, team travel and recruiting coordinator. During her four seasons with the Sycamores, ISU produced two first-team All-Missouri Valley Conference selections and four second-team all-conference honorees.
Before working on the staff at Indiana State, DeWeese spent three years as an assistant at her alma mater, California State University, San Bernardino. As a member of the staff at CSUSB she assisted with the recruiting efforts, practice sessions and monitored the academic progress of the women's soccer team.
DeWeese played collegiately for the Coyotes and finished her career tied for third all-time in career goals (27) and fifth in points (61). In her senior season she was named team captain, a second-team All-California Collegiate Athletic Association selection, and a CoSIDA Academic All-American.
DeWeese was the 1997 Scholar Athlete of the Year and was an NCAA Woman of the Year nominee. DeWeese holds USSF National 'B' and National Youth coaching licenses. She coaches a team with the local Davis Legacy soccer club.
