DAVIS, Calif. - - Stephanie Bell scored twice after the University of San Francisco tied the game 2-2, as the UC Davis women's soccer team posted a 4-2 exhibition win over the Dons at Aggie Soccer Field on Friday afternoon.

The game is the only one of the preseason for UC Davis which will host Fresno State next Friday in the opener to the regular season. Freshman Sienna Drizin and sophomore Lexi Poppoff also scored for the Aggies.

Mackenzie Krieser and Jaciara Mello both tallied scores for USF which rallied from a pair of one-goal deficits to tie the game before halftime.

Tied at 1-1, the teams traded three goals over a seven-minute span in the latter third of the first half with Poppoff delivering from 15 yards off an assist from Ana Marija Sola in the 32nd minute. But the Dons tied it less than a minute later when Mello converted a penalty kick into the right side of the goal.

From there it was Bell's turn to put the Aggies in front for good, getting a ball away from the USF goalkeeper and popping it into the back of the net in the 39th minute. Her second score came off a nice pass ahead from Kiele Argente which Bell put to the right side of the net in the 74th minute.

That was the only score of the second half after the teams combined for five in the first. UC Davis wasted little time in scoring their first goal as freshman Sienna Drizin rebounded a missed shot from Emily Irion directly in front of the goal barely a minute into the game. USF battled back to knot the game in the 25th minute when Mackenzie Krieser rebounded in a miss from Abigail Phillips.

"We had a variety of goals so it was great fun today," said head coach Maryclaire Robinson. "We have a lot of changes (to our roster) so it was really great to have some connections and (see) who's going to step up."

UC Davis will open the regular season with five of its first six games at home. The matchup with the Bulldogs will begin at 5 p.m.
