MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - UC Davis' women's soccer match against Eckerd College was cancelled due to heavy rain and lightning after playing just 10 minutes Saturday evening during second-round play at the Nike Invitational on the Barry University campus.

Tropical depression Henri, which Thursday evening caused the postponement of the Aggies' first-round match against Barry until Friday, again made its presence felt on Saturday. The Aggies quickly jumped out on top as sophomore forward Lindsey Raymond took a pass from Kristin Aja and put it in the back of the net for the 1-0 lead. But just 10 minutes into the contest, lightning forced play to be stopped. By the time the lightning had left the area, heavy rains had drenched the field, leaving it in an unplayable condition. The referee then cancelled the game and since less than 70 minutes had been played, it is considered a "no contest" and all statistics are disregarded. The game will not be made up.

UC Davis returns home this week to open California Collegiate Athletic Association play with a Wednesday contest against Sonoma State. Gametime is set for 4 p.m.
