DAVIS, Calif. - Fresno State defeated UC Davis, 1-0, Sunday afternoon in a non-conference women's soccer game at Aggie Soccer Stadium. The Bulldogs' Claudia Cardenas scored on a rebound in the 51st minute to account for the game's lone goal. The loss drops UC Davis to 4-2-1 on the year while Fresno State improved to 2-6-0.

UC Davis outshot Fresno State, 17-8, including an 8-5 advantage in the second half. The game-winner, though, came almost 16 minutes into the second half. The sequence started when Callie Hancock powered a shot off the right post that deflected to the left. Cardenas was there to put the rebound into the net as the Bulldogs took a 1-0 lead.

Marisa Boge finished with a game-high five shots while Jordan Martin added four. Hancock topped the Bulldogs with four shots.

In goal, Sarah Peters had two saves while Kaitlyn Revel finished with seven on the other side.

UC Davis is next in action Sept. 27 when it hosts Nevada at noon.
