The Aggies improve to 5-10 overall and 2-3-2 in conference play. The Rainbow Wahine slip to 6-10 for the year and 1-5 in Big West matches.
Although Hawai'i managed the first three attempts of the contest, UC Davis was the first to break the scoreless tie. O'Tousa found the top shelf of the frame with a long serve from 25 yards out, giving the Aggies the initial lead in the 17th minute. The Wahine answered in similar fashion some nine minutes later when sophomore Storm Kenui connected from just beyond the penalty box, equalizing at 1-1 with just under 19 minutes left in the half.
A UC Davis corner kick led to two penalty opportunities. UH goalkeeper Erica Young stopped Mari Pastor's attempt to start the 31st minute but an immediate Wahine foul allowed the Aggies another chance from the PK mark. This time it was Sola, who had a shot saved by Young earlier in the contest. She buried the go-ahead for her first goal since September 26 of her freshman year.
The Aggies went to the break with the 2-1 lead despite an 8-4 deficit in the shooting department. Senior Taylor Jern, who had three saves in the first half, added a fourth in the opening minute of the second, then a fifth against Sonest Futrado in the 73rd.
UC Davis faced a 13-5 shot deficit but managed to put all five attempts on frame. Sophomore Andrea Damian had the Aggies' sole shot in the second half, taken in the 75th minute just 36 seconds after she had entered the contest.
The Aggies return home for their regular-season finale on Sunday, Nov. 2 against UC Irvine.
