RIVERSIDE, Calif. - UC Riverside scored a pair of second-half goals on its way to a 2-0 victory over UC Davis in a Big West Conference women's soccer game Sunday afternoon. The contest was the regular season finale for both teams as the Aggies conclude their season 6-10-1 overall and 1-7-0 in the Big West. The Highlanders finished 6-9-4 and 1-6-1, respectively.
The game was scoreless through the first half. The Aggies outshot the Highlanders 11-8, but neither team was able to break through. It would remain 0-0 until the 55th minute when UCR's Ashley Parks scored a goal off of a corner kick to put the Highlanders up 1-0. It would remain that way until the 72nd minute when UC Riverside added an insurance goal by Kayla Troesh. UCR was helped by a 17-8 shot advantage in the second half.
The finale ended the careers of four Aggie seniors. Marisa Boge, Jordan Martin, Rochelle VanBuskirk and Britnee Warmerdam all capped off four-year careers. VanBuskirk put together one of the most prolific scoring seasons in UC Davis history with 13 goals and 30 points this year.
