DAVIS, Calif. – UC Davis women’s soccer has already started its preparations for the fall by scheduling eight matches against top-flight competition this spring.
Of those eight events, five will take place at either Aggie Soccer Field or Aggie Stadium.
"We are itching to get back outside and begin our spring season! We have a fantastic schedule - a collection of quality opponents who will test us and make us better as well,” said head coach Maryclaire Robinson.
Competition for the Aggies will open on April 7 when the team heads west to face Cal at 10:30 a.m. before ending the day with a 4 p.m. game at Cal State East Bay.
The first of five consecutive home matches for UC Davis’ spring season is slated for April 20 when Pacific visits the campus for a 10 a.m. game. The Aggies’ homestand will continue on April 27 when the team hosts Chico State and San Francisco in a soccer doubleheader scheduled to start at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. respectively.
On May 4, UC Davis will end its home slate at Aggie Stadium against the California Storm and Bay Area Breeze from the Women’s Premier Soccer League. Kick-off for that day’s action will take place at 12 p.m. and 4 p.m.
UC Davis’ spring season will end the following weekend against Oregon. Taking place at Southern Oregon University in Ashland, Ore., the Aggies-Ducks soccer game will start at 3 p.m.
“This is a great opportunity for the squad to incorporate the speed and strength they developed winter quarter into our training sessions and games,” said Robinson. “We have a great group and are ready to get back at it.”
