SACRAMENTO, Calif. - - The first five points of the 2012-13 Causeway Cup race will be up for grabs on Friday afternoon when the UC Davis women's soccer team travels to face rival Sacramento State on Friday at 5 p.m. at Hornet Field.
The Aggies, who opened their season with a 2-0 win over visiting Fresno State last Friday, are undefeated in their last five games against the Hornets, posting a 4-0-1 record.
UC Davis has won the last two games in the series including last year's 1-0 win at Aggie Soccer Field last year. Ashley Edwards, who scored in last week's win against the Bulldogs, scored the game's lone goal in last year's win over the Hornets with a goal in the 34th minute.
The Aggies beat Sacramento State 1-0 in their last meeting at Hornet Field, posting a 1-0 victory in 2010. The Hornets opened their 2012 campaign with a 2-1home win over Nevada last Sunday. The Wildcats will serve as UC Davis' opponent on Sunday at 1 p.m. at Aggie Soccer Field.
Friday's game is the only road game over the first five of the regular season.
