IRVINE, Calif. - The Big West Conference announced its postseason women's soccer awards on Wednesday, and UC Davis is represented by Molly Scott and Sarah Peters. Scott is a senior defender while Peters is a sophomore keeper, and both Aggies received Second Team All-Big West honors.
The duo helped make UC Davis one of the strongest teams in the Big West on the defensive side. In addition, both individuals were the only Aggies to play in every minute of the season. Scott and Peters started all 17 games and played a large part in UC Davis finishing the season as the only Big West team to not allow more than two goals in a game. In all, the Aggies surrendered just 20 goals in 17 games for an average of 1.18 goals per game. Peters finished third in the Big West with a 1.12 goals against average, posted 57 saves and had four shutouts.
UC Davis finished the 2008 season with a 7-7-3 record. The Aggies were in contention for an appearance in the Big West Tournament up to the final day of the regular season. The postseason honors are the first for UC Davis since becoming an official Big West member in 2007.
