2010: BIG WEST PITCHER OF THE YEAR... BIG WEST FIRST TEAM ALL CONFERENCE (P) AND (DP)... Continued to lead the team in the circle and at the plate... Started in all 55 games as a hitter... Led the team with a .345 batting average had a team best 59 hits... Recorded a .415 slugging percentage and a .396 on base percentage, after drawing 15 walks on the season... Also recorded 19 runs scored, 22 RBI, seven doubles, one triple and one homerun... Had 19 multi hit games... Put together a 10 game hit streak in conference play, including a stretch of seven games with two or more hits... Finished in the top ten in the Big West in several offensive categories, including batting average (5th), hits (T-3rd), total bases (T-8th) and at bats (T-2nd)... Drove in three runs vs. Cal State Northridge (4/3), UC Riverside (5/1) and Cal Poly (5/9)... As a pitcher, appeared in 42 games and started 22, after 177.0 innings pitched... finished with a 16-11 record, a 3.01 ERA and two saves... Tallied 143 strikeouts, while surrendering just 68 walks... Held opposing batters to a .271 batting average... Had one shutout and 12 complete games on the season... Hurled a shutout in a 10-0 win vs. Cal Poly (5/9)... Threw for a complete game win vs. Indiana (3/6), while striking out a season high 11... Named Big West Player of the Week and Pitcher of the Week on May 10.
2009: ALL BIG-WEST CONFERENCE FIRST TEAM (DP)...ALL-BIG WEST HONORABLE MENTION (P)...A top threat for the team both in the circle and at the plate...Appeared in 41 games with 35 starts as a hitter...Finished second on the team with a .275 average (30-for-109)...Hit one home run to go along with 19 RBIs, 6 doubles and 2 triples...Only homer of the year came in opener against Liberty (2/7)...Drove in 2 runs against Santa Clara (2/25), San Diego (2/28), Long Beach State (3/28) and Cal State Northridge (5/8)...Started 20 games with 35 appearances in the circle...Led team with 1.83 ERA...Named Big West Co-Pitcher of the Week on Feb. 9...Posted 3 shutouts and combined to secure 3 more...Struck out 11 in each of first two starst of the season while allowing no runs in 13 innings...Finished fourth in the Big West in ERA.
2008: Pitched in 31 games, starting 23... Finished with 7-14 record and 4.37 ERA in 139.1 innings... Also had 23 complete games and two saves... Added 8-for-45 (.178) batting with a double and home run... Earned Big West Conference Pitcher of the Week after complete-game win over UC Santa Barbara (4/26)... Hurled 3.0 shutout innings in save vs. Utah (3/7)... Fanned season-high 9 batters in 2-hitter vs. Santa Clara (3/4)... First collegiate HR was two-run shot vs. St. John's (2/29).
JSERRA CATHOLIC HS '07: Compiled 70-29 career record and 804 strikeouts in four years... Twice earned All-Southern Section first-team honors... Batted .500 every year, including .536 as a sophomore... Also compiled 0.18 ERA in 2005, earning first of two Athlete of the Year awards... Played ASA ball for So Cal Explosion in Cypress, Calif.
PERSONAL: Born in Orange County... Majoring in psychology... Parents are Scott and Maryanne Holmes... Career highlight entering UC Davis was placing 2nd at state championship... Also played basketball and volleyball in high school.
