Softball wins weekend series in Santa Barbara

2016: Named a starter in 43 of 46 games played... Recorded a team-high 12 multiple hit games... Started 23 games at catcher, another 15 at third, four as the team's designated player and one in left field... Led all Aggies with her .314 batting average, .421 slugging percentage, 59 total bases and two triples... Ranked No. 2 on the team in hits (44) and RBI (18), doubles (8) and sacrifice bunts (3)... Posted the third-highest on base percentage (.392)... Hit .304 vs. left-handed pitchers and .316 against right-handed pitchers... Batted a team-high .327 with runners in scoring position... Ten of her 18 RBI were earned with two outs... Hit a double in the Aggies' first three games of the season vs. Montana (2/12), Sacramento State (2/12) and CSU Bakersfield (2.13) at the Aggie Kick-Off... Hit triples vs. Iona (3/25) and Hawai'i (4/2, Gm. 2)... Scored a season-high three runs vs. South Dakota (2/27) and Dartmouth (3/26)... Recorded a season-high three hits vs. Florida State (3/5) at the Stacy Winsberg Memorial Tournament and against Iona at the Aggie Spring Swing Invitational... Hit her third career home run vs. UC Santa Barbara (5/8) — the Aggies' home finale.

 Drove in 23 runs - the second-highest total on the team... Ranked No. 3 among all Aggies with 39 hits and 51 total bases... Named the team's starting catcher in 10 games, earned another at third base and additional 34 as the team's designated player... Nine RBI were earned with two outs... Scored a season-high two runs on three occasions: vs. Stanford (3/4), Cal Poly (4/11) and at Hawai'i (5/8)... Drove in a career-high four RBI vs. Stanford (3/4)...Hit her first career home run vs. Stanford... Blasted another one over the fence four days later when the Aggies faced UCLA (3/8)... Stole a career-high two bases in UC Davis' home opener vs. Pacific (2/10).

Competed in 16 games; named a starter on three occasions... Earned one start in right field and another two as the team's designated player... Scored one run vs. Western Kentucky (2/15) and Boston U. (3/2)... Drove in another run vs. UC Riverside (4/26, Gm. 2)... Stole a base vs. LIU-Brooklyn (2/23).

BISHOP O'DOWD HS '13: Earned four varsity letters as a member of the girls' soccer team at Bishop O'Dowd... Primarily competed at third base, but played shortstop throughout her senior season... Collected first team all-league honors as a sophomore, junior and senior... Also received All-East Bay second team accolades as a junior and third team recognition as a senior... In her sophomore season, Bishop O'Dowd ended its year as North Coast Section Division III champions.

PERSONAL: Alexis Carney is the middle of Veronica and Julian Carney's three children... Older sister, Andrea, currently attends Northwestern University... Enjoys shopping and is obsessed with Criminal Minds... Jenny Finch is her sports hero... Her most memorable athletics event took place in 1989 when the Oakland Athletics won the World Series... Once competed in Hall of Fame Stadium in Oklahoma City - her favorite facility... Would love to visit Greece... Competed for the NorCal StrikeZone softball club team in Fremont, California, from 2011-13... That squad qualified, and attended the 2012 ASA Gold Nationals in Oklahoma City, the 2012 and '13 PGF Nationals.
