2016: Named a starter in 27 games, at six different positions: right field (12 games), left field (7), shortstop (4), designated player (2), second base and pitcher (1 apiece)... Appeared in 33 games... Named the Aggies' starting pitcher vs. Utah (2/20) at the DeMarini Desert Classic... Threw a season-high 3.2 innings vs. Weber State (2/21), also at that same tournament hosted by UNLV... Fanned a season-high three Wildcats that same game... Batted 2-for-3 and scored twice vs. Iona (3/25)... Stole her only base of the year against the Gaels.
2015: BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM... Pitched in 14 games and named a starter in one... That start took place at UC Riverside (4/26)... Also started two games in both center and right field... Ended her junior season with a 1-0 record and 5.95 ERA... Struck out seven batters throughout her 20.0 innings pitched... Threw a season-high 4.1 innings vs. Providence (3/6) and at Hawai'i (5/9)... Fanned a season-high four batters at Hawai'i... Posted 18 at-bats... Drew two walks and was hit by a pitch twice... Recorded a hit vs. Santa Clara (2/15)... Scored a run at Fresno State (2/14), vs. Santa Clara (2/15) and Grand Canyon (2/27)... Collected her first collegiate sacrifice hit vs. Louisville (2/6).
2014: BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-ACADEMIC TEAM... Started one game and made 12 appearances in the circle... Ended her inaugural season at UC Davis with a 2-2 record and 3.58 ERA... Earned one save... Struckout eight batters throughout her 29.1 innings pitched... Competed in another 19 games as a pinch runner or position player... Of these games, Paine was penciled in the starting lineup 10 times, all in right field... Drove in one run vs. Syracuse (2/21)...Recorded a season-high two hits vs. LIU-Brooklyn (2/23)... Of those two hits, one was a double... Stole a base vs. Syracuse and at Pacific (4/23)... Threw a season-high 5.1 innings at Cal State Northridge (4/5)... Earned her first collegiate victory that day against the Matadors... Fanned a season-high two batters vs. Washington (2/9)... Picked up her lone save of the year vs. Boston U. (3/2).
HILMAR HS '11: Earned four varsity softball letters from 2007-11 as a second baseman and pitcher... Also earned one women's basketball letter in 2010... Captured first team all-conference accolades as a freshman and sophomore... Also named best defensive player in '08... Selected as the team's MVP her sophomore year... Collected Defensive Lady Jacket of the Year and a spot on the Hilmar Lady Hacket Softball Classic's all-tournament team as a junior... Selected as her school's Lady Jacket of the Year and the Trans Valley League's Most Outstanding Player as a senior... Graduated in 2011 as class valedictorian.
PERSONAL: Parents are Rinda and Steve Paine... She has an older sister, Jessica... Her father and sister competed for Modesto Junior College's football and women's basketball team respectively... Her uncle, Glenn Driskell, was a member of Cal State Stanislaus' men's basketball team... Enjoys singing and dancing... Finishing high school as her class' valedictorian is her greatest personal accomplishment... Not many people know that she is a lefty, even though she plays sports right-handed... In 2012, she auditioned for "The Singing Bee"... Her athletics highlight took place when she hit her first home run with her parents, aunt, uncle and grandmother in attendance... She also added that her sister was running late and missed it... Mike Trout and Tim Tebow are her sports heroes... Chose to attend UC Davis due to its prestigious reputation and her opportunity to compete for a Division I athletics team that "puts all their heart and soul into winning"... Her parents are her non-sports heroes... Would like to pursue a career in mathematics when she graduates... Would love to visit Europe... Her superstition involves listening to the same song before every game... Her advice to others, "Why play if you don't want to be the best? Refuse to lose."... Competed for the OSB Monarchs softball club team from Oakdale, California... From the fall of 2009 through the summer of 2010, she played for USA Elite - a team that won the Western National Championship... Paine pitched in that championship contest.
