2014: BIG WEST CONFERENCE ALL-FRESHMAN TEAM... Led all Aggie pitchers with her .266 opposing batting average, 68 strikeouts, 11 wins and 130.1 innings pitched... Those numbers rank her No. 5, No. 8, No. 9 and No. 10 respectively among all league pitchers... Cruse was also ranked No. 8 in the conference with her 3.54 ERA, the second-lowest on staff... Named a starter in 27 of 37 games played... Ended her inaugural season at UC Davis with an 11-11 record and 3.54 ERA... Threw five complete games and was involved in all four of the team's shutouts thrown... Earned three clean sheets on her own and combined efforts with Leah Munden to record the other... Fanned 68 batters throughout her 130.1 innings pitched... Posted a 2.74 ERA, earned five wins and recorded three complete games against Big West teams... Her first complete-game shutout victory took place vs. Western Kentucky (2/14)... Her other two took place at Nevada (3/16) and vs. UC Riverside (4/26, Gm. 1)... Fanned a season-high eight batters vs. Hawai'i (5/9, Gm. 1).

DEL NORTE HS '13: Earned three varsity letters from 2011-13 as a member of the girls' softball team... Primarily competed as a pitcher... Earned first team all-league, MVP, Valley League Pitcher of the Year and All-North County first team recognition as a junior... Her team captured back-to-back league titles in 2012 and '13... Received Nighthawk Scholar, Scholar Athlete, NFCA Academic All-American and San Diego Union Tribune's All-Academic Team as a junior... Named a Nighthawk Scholar her senior year.

PERSONAL: Parents are Karen Clapp and Kyle Cruse... Both parents attended law school at UC Davis starting in 1993... Dana is the oldest of three children... Her father competed for Middlebury's swim team... Not many people know that she plays the trombone... Delanie Gourley is the best athlete she has competed against... Winning back-to-back softball league championships is her career athletics highlight... Also loves to play basketball... Competed for the Corona Angels club team from 2010-13... Her club team finished in fifth place at the ASA Gold Nationals and ninth at the Premier Nationals in 2011.
