2017: Only Aggie to appear as both a pitcher and position player... Played 22 games as a position player, starting ten of them... Entered nine games as a relief pitcher... Started six games as the designated hitter, three games in the outfield and one at third... Recorded a career-high three RBI against North Dakota on March 17... Hit a triple, her only multi-base hit of the season, against Seton Hall on March 9... Hit .333 with the bases loaded and .500 with a runner on third and less than two outs... As a pitcher, she made nine appearances for 21.1 innings of work... She finished in second amongst Aggie pitchers in opposing batting average (.259), games finished (8) and games in relief (9)... Pitched a season-high 5.2 innings against Cal State Fullerton on April 15, allowing just four hit and one earned run... Recorded a season-high three strikeouts against Bryant on March 16 in a perfect two innings of work... Mendoza is just one of three players on the team with a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage with nine putouts and seven assists.

PERSONAL: Oldest of Elena and Frank Orozco's two children... Her grandparents, Irene Realyvasquez and Frank Orozco, graduated from UC Davis... Her aunt, Melissa Gutierrez, is also a UC Davis alum... Most people do not know that she enjoys watching anime and reading manga.
