After assembling the most decorated career in UC Davis softball's Division I era, Alex Holmes remains with the Aggie program to serve as a student assistant coach.

Holmes earned a total of five All-Big West Conference awards, including four first-team honors. She made the league's top squad as a designated player while adding honorable mention on the mound in 2009, claimed first-team acclaim at both positions as a junior in 2010, then picked up a first-team nod as a pitcher in 2011. Holmes was selected as the Big West Pitcher of the Year and added All-Pacific Region second-team accolades in 2010, helping UC Davis advance to the NCAA Regional.

On the mound, the left-hander won 48 games - including a team-best 16 in each of her final two seasons - while fanning 549 batters in 705.0 career innings. She finished with a 2.87 ERA, ranking among the top four in the Big West as a sophomore (1.83) and senior (2.60).

At the plate, Holmes hit .306 for her career, including .345 and .321 in her junior and senior years, respectively. As a senior, she led all NCAA Division I players with eight triples (0.16 per game).

A graduate of JSerra Catholic High School, Holmes is completing her defgree in psychology at UC Davis.
