Two Aggies Earn Preseason Accolades

College Sports Madness Bestows Preseason All-Confernece Honors to Justine Vela and Jasmine Lee

2013: Tied a single-game program record with three stolen bases recorded against Cal Poly (5/11)... Finished her career at UC Davis ranked second all-time with 51 stolen bases... Swiped 13 bases in her final season as an Aggie, the second-highest total on the team... Ranked fourth among all Aggies with 10 walks and fifth with a .330 on-base pct.... Posted three three-hit games... Earned a spot in the starting lineup in 27 of 45 games as either a left (11) or center fielder (16)... Hit .247 (20-for-81) with 13 runs and three RBIs... Struck out a team-low nine times...Successfully stole a base in all but one of her 14 attempts... Her only extra-base hit, a triple, took place at CSU Bakersfield (3/16, Gm. 1)... Went 3-for-3, drove in two runs, scored another and stole a base at Sacramento State (3/2, Gm. 2)... Also finished 3-for-3 with a run and three stolen bases in her final game in a UC Davis uniform against Cal Poly.

2012: Played in 50 games, starting 48, all in center... Led Aggies in hits (38) and stolen bases (12-for-13)... Averaged improved to .303 (20-for-66) with runners on... Generally slotted at leadoff (19 games) or No. 2 (25 games) in batting order... Batted .257 (38-for-148) with 17 runs... Went 4-for-4 with a double and two runs vs. Fordham (2/23)... Totaled 6-for-9 hitting in three-game home series with UC Riverside (4/1-4/2)... Also made seven outfield putouts in that set... Hit 3-for-4 with two runs and two steals at San Diego (4/19).

2011: ALL-BIG WEST CONFERENCE SECOND TEAM... Started 45 of 49 games played, all in center field... Batted .315 overall (41-for-130), improving to .358 (24-for-67) in conference games... Scored 20 runs and led team with 18 stolen bases... Had 10 multi-hit games, including a 3-for-3 effort vs. Cal State Northridge (4/2) and 3-for-5 performance at UC Riverside (4/30)... Hit 7-for-12 with six runs in three-game set vs. Highlanders (4/30-5/1)... Went 2-for-4 with two steals vs. Cal Poly (5/7)... Among toughest Aggies to strike out, fanning just 11 times (once per 12.8 plate appearances).

2010: Played in 45 games, starting 39, mostly in center... Batted .245 (26-for-106) with 18 runs scored... Stole eight bases on nine attempts... Went 3-for-5 with four runs and two bags vs. Cal State Bakersfield (2/13), one of seven multi-hit games... Collected three hits and two steals vs. Iona (3/15)... Committed no errors in 54 chances, including four outfield assists.

WOODROW WILSON HS '09: Selected as Moore League co-MVP, collecting 45 hits with a .446 average... Named team MVP as a junior, batting .412 with 14 stolen bases... Three-time All-Moore League honoree, including two first-team selections... Twice made Long Beach Press-TelegramDream Team... Helped lead Bruins to Southern Section playoffs in 2008... Distinguished Scholar selection all four years... Played for Firecrackers 18U (Huntington Beach) in ASA action.
