FULLERTON, Calif. - UC Davis overcame a four-run deficit, but Cal State Fullerton scored four times in the bottom of the sixth on its way to an 8-4 victory over UC Davis, Sunday, at Anderson Field. The loss drops the Aggies to 18-27 overall and 3-6 in the Big West Conference. The Titans, who were swept by the Aggies on Saturday, improved to 19-22 overall and 3-6 in the conference.

Cal State Fullerton dominated the first four innings, scoring once in the first, twice in the third and one more time in the fourth to lead 4-0 heading to the fifth. During that time, the Titans held UC Davis to just one hit and three base runners.

That all changed in the fifth as the Aggies exploded for four runs. Bianca Castillo, Lindsey Jones and Trish Paine each singled to load the bases with no outs. Jenny Corbett walked to force Castillo home with the Aggies' first run. The next batter, Julie Stauder, delivered a two-run double as UC Davis trailed just 4-3. Michelle Espiritu, who entered the inning as a pinch runner, scored the tying run on a passed ball.

Neither team scored in their next at bat before Cal State Fullerton rallied for four runs in the sixth. The big hit of the inning was a two-run single by Katie Golhardt, which put the Titans up 6-4 at the time.

The Titans outhit the Aggies, 11-6. Golhardt had three hits with two RBIs while Kiki Munoz had a pair of hits with two RBIs. Sarah O'Neill led UC Davis with a 2-for-3 effort from the plate. Paine, Stauder, Castillo and Jones each had one hit.

Jessica Doucette picked up a complete-game win for Cal State Fullerton, and Alex Holmes suffered the loss in relief for the Aggies.

UC Davis is next in action Wednesday when it plays a non-conference doubleheader at San Jose State.
