FULLERTON, Calif. -- Freshman Brooke Yanez doubled twice and drove in three runs, while classmate Alyse Rojas slugged her second home run of the season to lead-off game two on Saturday afternoon, but a pair of late rallies by host Cal State Fullerton stung visiting UC Davis en route to a doubleheader sweep at Anderson Family Field.

Making their first appearance on ESPN3 since the 2016 season, the Aggies fell to 24-20 overall and 6-8 in Big West Conference, getting a pair of hits from four different players on the day -- half of those going for extra bases.

The league-leading Titans improved to 28-20 overall and 13-1 in conference play, maintaining their lead over second place Long Beach State in the standings in the process.

In the opener, Yanez (13-9) and Fullerton starter Sophie Frost (12-5) matched one another zero-for-zero through three innings before the Aggie animal science major took matters into her own hands, following up a double by classmate Riley Siegel and a walk to senior Ashley Lotoszynski with a two-out double that rolled all the way to the fence in left centerfield, scoring both runners for a 2-0 lead.

The Titans wasted no time in responding in the home half, scoring four times thanks to run-scoring hits by Zoe Richard, Julia Valenzuela, and Sammie Vandiver, to make it 4-2.

UC Davis went quietly in the fifth, but got two on in the sixth only to have a rally snuffed out by a double play, and received a two-out single off the bat of Meghan Bradbury in the seventh, but could come no closer as a fly ball ended the contest.

Siegel finished 2-for-3, adding a single to lead-off the sixth, to collect her third multi-hit game of the year, while Yanez's double was her second extra-base hit of the season. Alyse Rojas added a first-inning single to round-out the offense.

Yanez suffered the loss, allowing four runs on nine hits and striking out eight over six innings, while Frost struck out six, allowing just two runs on five hits in the victory.

The Aggies came out swinging to start the nightcap as Alyse Rojas sent the third pitch of the game over the wall in left field for a 1-0 lead, while Yanez followed with her second double of the day four batters later, cashing in on a Fullerton error that would have ended the inning to score Siegel from first base for the two-run advantage.

A double by Deshea Hill got one of the runs back in the bottom of the first, but sophomore right-hander Katie Kibby (10-8) settled in, holding the Titans hitless until the fifth and stranding the bases loaded in that inning to maintain the one-run lead.

Fullerton finally took advantage in the sixth, loading the bases before a two-out single by Brooke Clemetson scored pinch-runner Kelsie Whitmore to tie the game. The Aggies almost got out of the jam, but a throwing error pulled first baseman Maddie Rojas off the bag, allowing Irie Siofele to score the go-ahead run, giving the Titans a 3-2 advantage.

UC Davis was able to end the inning on the same play, throwing out a Fullerton runner trying to take an extra base, but the Aggies were unable to put together a rally in the seventh despite a two-out single by Bradbury, who reached base safely for the seventh consecutive game.

Kibby allowed the two earned runs on nine hits while striking out five over six innings, while Trish Parks (7-2) struck out 10 and scattered just three hits, holding UC Davis hitless from the second to sixth innings, walking just three batters over that stretch.

The two teams complete their three-game series on Sunday (April 29) with a single game at Noon in Fullerton, Calif.
