DAVIS, Calif. - UC Davis continues its non-conference tournament schedule this weekend when it takes part in the Diamond Devil Invitational hosted by Arizona State. The Aggies are one of six teams in the field and will play five games over the course of the three-day event. UC Davis begins play Friday when it takes on No. 1 Arizona State followed by Utah.

UC Davis (12-11) is coming off a doubleheader sweep of Santa Clara on Tuesday at La Rue Field. Alex Holmes and Jessica Hancock each picked up wins in the circle as the Aggies won the first game, 10-2, and held on for a 1-0 win in game two. Julie Stauder leads UC Davis with a .367 batting average. Deanna Menapace is batting .271 with a team-leading three homers and 14 RBIs. Hancock's shutout against SCU was her fourth of the season, and she has struck out 92 batters in 84.1 innings.

UC Davis will take on two nationally-ranked team in the tournament. The Aggies' will face San Diego State Saturday morning. The Aztecs are ranked No. 21 in the NFCA/USA Today Top-25. Following the SDSU game, the Aggies remain n the field to battle San Diego before concluding the tournament Sunday morning in a rematch with Utah.
