DAVIS, Calif. - The UC Davis softball team will conclude its 2009 season this week when it hosts Cal State Northridge in a three-game Big West Conference series at La Rue Field. The two teams square off in a Friday afternoon doubleheader that starts at noon before Saturday's finale at noon.

The final game will also be followed by a Senior Day presentation in which Jessica Hancock, Belinda Paine and Julie Stauder will all be recognized. Saturday's game can be heard live at www.ucdavisaggies.com and at www.kdvs.org.

The three seniors have been a dominant presence since 2005. Hancock is finishing her fifth year with the program and is third all-time in Aggie history with 671 strikeouts. Hancock is also among the school's top five in innings pitched and has 16 career shutouts.

Paine holds the Aggie record with 52 career stolen bases, moving past previous record-holder Megan De La Hoya this season. Her career .296 average has been complemented by 193 hits, which ranks eight in Aggie history. Paine has started all but three of her 222 games over the course of the past four years.

Stauder is also a four-year starter who led the team in batting as a junior and as is on the verge of becoming the Aggies' all-time leader in walks. She has also scored 99 runs in her career. Stauder has started 216 of the 217 games she has played.

Each team is looking to rebound from sweeps last week as CSUN (27-20) was swept at Cal State Fullerton while UC Davis (21-30) suffered the same fate at UC Santa Barbara.
