DAVIS, Calif. - Registration is underway for the 2008 UC Davis Softball Camp. A variety of options are available for ages 8 and up. The first camp date runs July 8-9 with the second date taking place Aug. 12-13. The July session features a Kids Day Camp in the morning for ages 8-12. An afternoon session on the same days is available for ages 13 and up. A Prospect Camp takes place in August, which features two all-day sessions for ages 13 and up.

The July camps are designed to teach the basic fundamentals and rules of the game of softball. Players will be divided into playing groups based on age and skill level. Offensive and defensive work will be emphasized in addition to game competition.

The Prospect Camp in August will emphasize advanced fundamentals and skill development through clinic and station work. Players are divided into teams balancing age and skill level. All areas will be discussed, including the physical and mental aspects of the game. Evenings will include team building activities and fun events.

Deadline to register for the July camps is July 4th at 5 p.m. Individuals have until Aug. 8 to secure their spot in the August camp. Limited space is available for all camp options.
