DAVIS, Calif. -- Eight games against local Division I, Division II, and junior college, rivals highlight the UC Davis softball team's 2017 fall schedule, fourth-year head coach Erin Thorpe announced on Monday.
All eight of the Aggies' contests will take place on the road as upgrades and modifications to LaRue Field will begin in October in order for the stadium to be ready in time for the 2018 season.
UC Davis opens with a pair of contests at Consumnes River College in Sacramento on Oct. 7, as the Aggies open the fall against the College of the Canyons at Noon, before taking on the host Hawks at 2 p.m. An Oct. 20 date against Causeway rival Sacramento State is set for 3 p.m. at Shea Stadium on campus, before making the two-hour drive to the College of San Mateo to take on the Academy of Art at Noon and the host Bulldogs at 2 p.m. on Oct. 21.
The Aggies wrap up the fall with a pair of contests in November, traveling to San Jose State on Nov. 4 for a single game at 11:30 a.m., before taking on Sonoma State in a doubleheader a day later at Noon.
