TEMPE, Ariz. -- UC Davis was defeated by No. 21 Arizona State, 7-0, Sunday in women's tennis action at the Whiteman Tennis Center in Tempe. The Sun Devils won all three doubles matches before doing the same in the six singles contests. The loss drops the Aggies to 2-2 on the year while the Sun Devils improved to 2-0.

The first doubles match to finish was at No. 3 where Kelcy McKenna and Ali Van Horne defeated Sidney Brady and Jenna Kappel, 8-1. Next off was the match at No. 1 as Laila Abdala and Nadia Abdala posted an 8-4 victory over Randi Schuler and Desiree Stone. That win clinched the first point of the match for ASU. The Wildcats proceeded to win all six matches in singles on their way to the shutout.

UC Davis returns to action Jan. 28 when it takes on No. 5 Stanford on the road in a match that was rescheduled from last week due to rain.
